Foobar

Anyone who programs computers for a living has probably encountered some function called "foo" or a class named "Bar", or some entity called Foobar. I was always curious about where that came from. Turns out that Foobar was a actually a polite spelling of the military term "FUBAR" which means "Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition".
